Come Volunteer with Pack 60 for the 25th Annual California Coastal Cleanup Day on Saturday, September 19, 2009
Time: 9:00 am - Noon
Where: Fisherman's Wharf Beach, Monterey, CA
Check-in at Heritage Harbor - Parking Passes will be Available at Check-in
For directions to clean-up site visit: http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=24587
Remember to wear your Pack 60 uniform (Class A or B), sunscreen, comfortable shoes, hat, and gloves. When you check in at the cleanup location, you will be given trash bags, pencils, and a special data card to tally the items you collect. Be sure to return trash, recyclables and your data card to the beach or site captain after the cleanup.
Please note you will be checking in with the local coastal clean-up coordinator. They will supply everything needed and then you may proceed to walk the beach as long as you may like.
I may not see you, so it is important to let me know if you participate, so I may order the correct number of patches. Every Scout, leader and participating family member may earn a Coastal Clean-up patch. This years patch is the 12th in the series and features the Pacific Seahorse.
The waiver to participate can be found at: http://www.coastal.ca.gov/publiced/ccd/2009waiver.pdf or it may be filled out that morning.
Please let me know if you plan to attend by Friday, September 18th. I may be reached at 676-3835 or mtvaryanas@comcast.net
Thanks,
Michelle Tvaryanas
