Pack 60 Update


SUMMER CAMP REGISTRATION DAY!
  • WHEN:  March 22, 2014, 9-12
  • WHERE:   Hayward Scout Shop in Salinas
  • WHY:  Toro Park Day Camp ($80):  June 23-27, 2014
  • WHY:  Pico Blanco Resident Camp ($210 scout / $115 adult):  July 3-6, 2014 (yes, this is 4th of July weekend!)
  • YOU WILL NEED:  Registration form, BSA Health form (parts A & B) & shooting sports authorization.  These forms can be found at www.svmbc.org/cubcamp 
Pack 60 Treasurer Tony McFarlane will be on-site to coordinate our pack sign-up and apply applicable scout popcorn credits.  Please note, discount of $10 per scout valid only on registration day, March 22!


PARENT TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES

CUB-SCOUT LEADER SPECIFIC TRAINING:
  • WHEN:  March 15, 2014, 9-1 (register & check-in at 8:30)
  • WHERE:  LDS Church, 255 E Alvin Drive, Salinas
  • COST:  $10 (Pack 60 will reimburse this cost) 

Training shows new leaders hot to do their jobs and allows for an interchange of ideas with more experienced leaders.  Every Cub Scout deserves qualified, trained leaders who will provide the best program possible, the way it is intended.  Trained leaders ensure that the goals of Cub Scouts are met.  The leadership training program of the Boy Scouts of America provides this information and helps leaders become confident in carrying out their responsibilities.

BALOO (Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation):
  • WHEN:  March 22, 2014, 9-5
  • WHERE:   St. Martin of Tours Meeting Room (adjoins the gym), 300 O'Connor Drive, San Jose, CA
  • COST:  $20 (must register by March 20; Pack 60 will reimburse this cost)
This is an 8-hour course on planning and implementing a fund and safe Cub Scout camping experience.  BALOO training includes an introduction to outdoor camping skills as well as important BSA rules and policies to be followed on any Cub Scout campout.

WHO:  This training is intended for anyone, leaders and parents, who will be involved in planning or implementing a pack-level Cub Scout overnight event that includes camping.


CLASS B ORDER FORM:  The form to order can be found here:  Class B Order Form.  Please note, we need a minimum of 24 units before placing the order with our vendor.
