Trekker Hike this Sunday!

1. Pinnacles East Trekker Hike, Sunday, 3/8 at 12:30pm

Please note this hike will be through some caves, parents are responsible for the safety of their scouts. Please dress yourself and your scout in supportive footwear, such as hiking boots or athletic shoes with grip. It is expected to be 75 degrees+ so please dress accordingly. Water is important, at least a liter of water is recommended per person. We will start gathering in the Bear Gulch Area in Pinnacles National Park at 12:00pm, hiking will start at 12:30pm. Please don't forget the 6 Scout Hiking Essentials:

Trekker Hike Background
The Monterey Bay Trekkers hiking program is an opportunity for Cub Scouts and their families to explore local hiking trails and parks in Monterey, San Benito and Santa Cruz Counties. Through the Trekkers program, Cub Scouts and their families will also learn why health and fitness are important for a long-lasting and productive life.

Pack 60 wants to encourage the families of all Cub Scouts in the Pack to explore the wonderful area we live in through this program. To make it easier, and more fun, the Pack will be organizing hikes to encourage group participation and the camaraderie of doing the hike as a group.

Families of Cub Scouts Pack 60 will be joining Scouts Troop 60 at Pinnacles on December 3 and 4. Families are welcome to come on the 2nd, please speak with Mr. Woodson regarding arrival time. Troop 60 will be working on their own merit badges in cooking, and will be preparing a spaghetti dinner on Saturday night, and a French Toast and Scrambled Eggs breakfast on Sunday morning to share with the Pack. Parent assistance with preparing meals is always welcome! We will be staying at site 120 and 121 as a Pack/Troop! If you're a family new to camping, and you prefer mattresses and a canvas cabin with 30A power there are still sites available that you can rent, please see recreation.gov  to rent your site. The group site we will be at does not have power available. It's going to be a very fun weekend with scouts working toward their adventure achievement requirements, hiking, laughing, and of course, s'mores. We hope to see you there.

Wednesday, January 24th (Spreckels Fire Company Building)Please find your scout's Derby Car number here:  Pack 60 Derby Car Numbers Weigh-in times: 5:00-5:30pm= Lions (Den 4), Tigers (Den 2) & Wolves (Den 5) 5:30-6:00pm=Bears (Den 1) & Web 1's (Den 11) 6:00-6:30pm=Web 2's (Den 3 & 6) 6:30-7:00pm=Open Registration Friendly reminder that cars will be collected that evening.   Friday, January 26th -Pinewood Derby starts at 5pm, we race by ranks, Lions and Tigers will be starting right at 5pm.
