May 22nd Open House at Spreckels Elementary School

Cub Scout Pack 60 of Spreckels invites boys entering grades 1 through 5 in September 2013 to join Cub Scouts at our new member recruitment event scheduled for Wednesday, May 22nd at the Spreckels Elementary School Open House. Boys and their parents are encouraged to attend to learn more about Scouting and sign up to begin participating in our summer 2013 activities, which include a family picnic, camping, marching in a parade, boogie boarding, hiking, and a trip to the Ravine Water park! Cub Scouts explore a variety of new interests and activities with other boys their age and participation helps them develop a sense of confidence, teamwork, responsibility and a spirit of service. Cubs meet in small groups (Dens) once a month and monthly with the entire group (Pack) to share experiences, activities and recognition.  Additional information on Cub Scouts can be found by visiting http://pack60cubscouts.blogspot.com/ or www.scouting.org.

Current Pack 60 Scouts are encouraged to represent the Pack and wear their Class B’s during the day (grey wolf shirt/red sweatshirt) and Class A’s while attending Open House. Stop by the Open House booth on the blacktop and say “Hi” for a special treat. Pack 60 You Rock!

Pinnacles Camping December 2-4 With Troop 60

Families of Cub Scouts Pack 60 will be joining Scouts Troop 60 at Pinnacles on December 3 and 4. Families are welcome to come on the 2nd, please speak with Mr. Woodson regarding arrival time. Troop 60 will be working on their own merit badges in cooking, and will be preparing a spaghetti dinner on Saturday night, and a French Toast and Scrambled Eggs breakfast on Sunday morning to share with the Pack. Parent assistance with preparing meals is always welcome! We will be staying at site 120 and 121 as a Pack/Troop! If you're a family new to camping, and you prefer mattresses and a canvas cabin with 30A power there are still sites available that you can rent, please see recreation.gov  to rent your site. The group site we will be at does not have power available. It's going to be a very fun weekend with scouts working toward their adventure achievement requirements, hiking, laughing, and of course, s'mores. We hope to see you there.

Pinewood Derby Weigh-in Times and Car Numbers

Wednesday, January 24th (Spreckels Fire Company Building)Please find your scout's Derby Car number here:  Pack 60 Derby Car Numbers Weigh-in times: 5:00-5:30pm= Lions (Den 4), Tigers (Den 2) & Wolves (Den 5) 5:30-6:00pm=Bears (Den 1) & Web 1's (Den 11) 6:00-6:30pm=Web 2's (Den 3 & 6) 6:30-7:00pm=Open Registration Friendly reminder that cars will be collected that evening.   Friday, January 26th -Pinewood Derby starts at 5pm, we race by ranks, Lions and Tigers will be starting right at 5pm.
